We are Sam’s 3PL Solutions — a US-based, asset-light third-party logistics company. We help move freight, place cargo in warehouses, book rail and ocean containers, and quote import/export projects for real clients with real deadlines.
We are hiring one remote Logistics Operations Assistant in Brazil to work our US Eastern business day alongside our founders.
If your background is calendar management, inbox cleanup, social media, data entry, or “general admin” — this role is not for you, and we will not respond to your application. We are looking specifically for someone who already speaks the language of logistics.
What You’ll Actually Do
- Take inbound leads and qualify them: what’s the commodity, the lane, the volume, the timeline, the Incoterm, the target rate.
- Source and collect rate cards. Call and email warehouses, drayage carriers, rail providers, transload facilities, and NVOCCs. Get pricing in writing. Chase people who don’t reply. Build a clean comparison sheet.
- Build quotes. Drayage, transload, storage (per pallet / per sq ft / per unit), handling in and out, accessorials, demurrage and detention exposure.
- Support import/export documentation. Commercial invoices, packing lists, HBL/MBL, ISF filings, HTS classification research, certificates of origin, ACE/AES filing support.
- Coordinate with customs brokers on both sides of a shipment and keep the paperwork moving so nothing sits at the port racking up charges.
- Maintain our carrier, warehouse, and vendor database — contacts, coverage, equipment, certifications, pricing history.
- Follow up relentlessly. A quote request that dies because nobody called back three times is a lost deal.
Hard Requirements (no exceptions)
- 2+ years of real, verifiable experience in freight forwarding, customs brokerage, an NVOCC, warehouse/3PL, a shipping line, or a comércio exterior department. You will be asked to name companies, lanes, and systems.
- Advanced spoken and written English (C1+). You will be on the phone with American warehouse managers and dispatchers. If you can read this ad comfortably but cannot hold a fast, unscripted phone call in English, you will not pass our screening.
- Working command of the vocabulary: Incoterms 2020, FCL/LCL, HBL vs MBL, chargeable weight, demurrage vs detention, ISF (10+2), HTS/NCM classification, drayage, transload, intermodal, bonded vs non-bonded, per-diem.
- Reliable, fast internet, a quiet place to make calls, a headset, and a working computer. This is a phone-heavy role.
- Full availability 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM US Eastern, Monday through Friday.
- Comfortable being told directly when something is wrong, fixing it, and moving on. We are blunt operators.
Nobody here has time to soften feedback.
Strongly Preferred (this is what gets you to the front of the line)
- Experience with US-bound import traffic — you’ve handled shipments arriving at US ports and know what CBP wants.
- Customs experience of any kind — despachante aduaneiro, customs analyst, SISCOMEX / DU-E / DI, or US entry-filing support. Customs is the single most valuable thing on your resume for this job.
- Experience quoting or booking rail and intermodal in North America.
- You’ve worked in or near Santos, Itajaí/Navegantes, Paranaguá, Guarulhos, Suape, or Manaus and know how a port actually operates.
- Comfort with CRM, TMS, or load board systems, Google Workspace, and Excel/Sheets at an intermediate level or better.

- Your English is intermediate. Be honest with yourself — the phone will expose it in ten seconds.
- You are looking for part-time, or you plan to run this alongside two other clients.
- You need someone to tell you what to do every hour.
- You are an agency or a staffing firm. We are hiring a person, directly.

Compensation & Terms
- USD $1,200 – $1,800 per month, depending on demonstrated experience — paid in USD via Wise, Payoneer, or Deel.
- Independent contractor engagement (PJ). You are responsible for your own taxes and, where applicable, nota fiscal.
- Reviewed at 90 days. Strong performers get a raise and a performance bonus tied to booked freight, not to hours logged.
- 10 paid days off per year plus Brazilian national holidays, coordinated in advance.
- Long-term, stable seat. We are building a team, not renting hands for a project.
Our Hiring Process (so you know exactly what you’re signing up for)
1. Application + screening questions — today.
2. Work-style assessment — a 15-minute questionnaire, sent to shortlisted candidates.
3. Recorded task exercise — we give you a small, real logistics task. You complete it while screen-recording yourself with Loom (free) and send us the link. This step is paid — USD $40 — because your time is worth something.
4. Live video interview with the founders, in English, ~30 minutes.
5. Paid one-week trial at full rate, then offer.
Total time from application to offer: about two weeks.
