The LACR Services Cybersecurity Department is responsible for the cybersecurity posture of MSI's Build, Own, Operate (BOO) Land Mobile Radio networks. In addition, Department members act as catalysts and enablers of Cybersecurity Services Sales throughout the region, and also assist in the implementation (and often, lead the implementations directly) of Cybersecurity services sold.
The Role
We are seeking a highly driven Cybersecurity Engineer to join our Latin America and Caribbean (LACR) Service Business organization. Based in São Paulo, Brazil, this position is focused on operations and implementation, serving as the technical engine for Motorola Solutions’ cybersecurity initiatives across the region.
In this role, you will be responsible for implementing the NIST Cybersecurity Framework across our Build Own Operate LMR networks (BOOs) and premier enterprise contracts. You will act as the regional operational bridge, coordinating directly with field teams, Service Engineers, and the global Cybersecurity Group to ensure our networks are protected, monitored, and compliant. This role offers a clear path for growth, allowing you to train alongside other cybersecurity experts to master Risk Assessments and other Cybersecurity Professional Services offered by Motorola Solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Implement the six principal tenets of the NIST Cybersecurity Framework (Govern, Identify, Protect, Detect, Respond, and Recover) throughout the LACR region.
Create and maintain a comprehensive database of "Installed Equipment," documenting network element software releases, network diagrams, and firewall configurations.
Create and actively maintain a Cybersecurity Risk Register for the LACR region.
Monitor official cybersecurity channels to identify vulnerabilities and discern when field action is required to prevent exploitation by threat actors.
Coordinate and control necessary mitigation actions with field teams, tracking them to completion and reporting progress to senior management.
Ensure that cybersecurity programs are implemented correctly by tracking field engineer training/certifications and following up on open deployment items.
Train alongside Cybersecurity Professional Services personnel during regional visits to conduct Risk Assessments, Penetration Testing, and other advanced tasks, building your expertise to eventually implement these services locally.
Experience : 3 to 6 years of highly technical, results-oriented engineering experience with a demonstrated track record of operational accomplishments. Experience operating Motorola LMR networks (P25 and/or DIMETRA) is a plus.
Education : An Engineering degree is required, with a strong preference for Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or Cybersecurity Engineering.
Language : Full professional fluency in both Portuguese and English is required; working proficiency in Spanish is a strong plus.
Technical Knowledge : Strong plus: Familiarity with cybersecurity principles, the NIST framework, Risk Management, Patching, and the creation of Cybersecurity Asset Management databases.
Data Skills : Strong plus: The ability to understand and organize data efficiently for reporting is required; hands-on experience or exposure to Data Science with large datasets is highly preferred.
