Retail Partnerships Manager - Smartphone Financing/Consumer Finance · Fintech · Brazil · LATAM Expansion
Overall Description: We are looking for a commercially driven and relationship-oriented Business Development Manager for retail partnerships to expand our smartphone financing footprint across Brazil and, progressively, across Latin America. Working at the intersection of sales, business development, and consumer credit, you will be responsible for opening new retail partnerships, structuring commercial agreements, setting and monitoring sales targets, and designing incentive programs that drive volume and partner engagement. This role works in close collaboration with the Sales team, the Senior Credit Risk Manager and fintech partners to ensure that commercial growth is aligned with credit quality and operational sustainability. You will be a connector, someone who understands how retail works on the ground and can translate that into scalable partnership models.
Key Responsibilities:
Retail partner development:
-
Prospect, negotiate and onboard new retail partners — including independent stores, regional chains, telecom retailers and electronics distributors — to expand the smartphone financing distribution network.
-
Manage the full partner lifecycle: from initial pitch and commercial agreement through onboarding, training and ongoing performance management.
-
Build and maintain a qualified pipeline of partnership opportunities across Brazil and target LATAM markets.
-
Develop tiered partnership models and commercial structures aligned with partner size, geography and product mix.
Sales targets and performance management:
-
Define, cascade and monitor sales targets by partner, region and product segment — ensuring alignment with the company's financing volume and credit quality goals.
-
Design and manage commercial incentive programs (rebates, commissions, co-marketing, performance bonuses) that motivate partners and drive sell-through.
-
Produce regular performance reports covering activation rates, financed volumes, approval rates and partner-level P&L indicators.
-
Work closely with the Sr Credit Risk Manager to monitor portfolio quality by partner and channel — flagging concentration risks or adverse selection patterns early.
Strategic partnerships and fintech collaboration:
-
Manage strategic relationships with fintech partners involved in credit origination, payment processing, or embedded finance infrastructure — ensuring SLAs, commercial terms and integration quality meet business needs.
-
Identify and develop new partnership opportunities that can enhance the distribution or financing capabilities of the platform.
LATAM expansion:
-
Support the entry into new LATAM markets by mapping the retail landscape, identifying anchor partners and adapting the commercial model to local dynamics (pricing, distribution norms, regulatory constraints).
-
Coordinate with the Sr Credit Risk Manager to ensure that credit policies, approval rates and risk appetite are calibrated for each new market before commercial launch.
-
Build local partner networks in Mexico, Colombia, Argentina and other target markets — acting as the primary commercial contact during market ramp-up.
✅ Skills & Requirements:
-
5-8 years of experience in commercial, business development, or partnerships roles — preferably in consumer finance, fintech, telecom or electronics retail.
-
Proven track record of opening and managing retail or channel partnerships at scale, with measurable impact on sales volumes.
-
Experience designing and executing commercial incentive programs and sales target frameworks for retail or distribution networks.
-
Solid understanding of consumer credit products — particularly CDC (Crédito Direto ao Consumidor), installment financing, or BNPL (Buy Now Pay Later) — and how credit approval dynamics affect retail conversion.
-
Strong negotiation skills and experience structuring commercial agreements with retail chains, distributors, or technology partners.
-
Data-driven mindset — comfortable working with sales dashboards, funnel metrics and partner-level performance reports.
-
Fluency in Portuguese, English and Spanish languages.
-
Availability to work in a hybrid schedule: 3 days on-site and 2 days remote.
Preferred Qualifications (considered a plus):
-
Direct experience with smartphone financing or handset distribution in Brazil or LATAM.
-
Existing network of contacts within electronics retail chains, telecom operators, or regional distributors in Brazil or other LATAM markets.
-
Experience with embedded finance or BNPL partnership models in retail contexts.
-
Exposure to fintech partner management — API integrations, white-label credit products, or revenue-share commercial structures.
-
Passion for financial inclusion and expanding credit access to underserved consumers through technology.
