The Product Marketing organization plays a critical role in developing and evolving product stories from ideation through launch, communicating features in a compelling way and clearly articulating consumer benefits from complex technology. The role is critical in analyzing customer experience metrics and competitive value propositions, understanding potential gaps and aligning with product management to optimize. This role has a high level of visibility across the organization, working with engineering, product management, design, PR, and global marketing teams to define and position the smartphone experience.
Job Description
We are looking for a go-getter with a passion for consumer technology, premium smartphone experiences, and iconic product storytelling. As a Sr. Product Marketing Specialist for the razr franchise, you will play a pivotal role in shaping, evolving, and bringing to market one of Motorola’s most visible and strategically important product franchises.
This role requires a strong consumer-first mindset, sharp business judgment, and the ability to translate product innovation into clear, differentiated, and compelling global marketing strategies. You will help define how razr shows up across audiences, markets, and touchpoints—ensuring the franchise story is consistent, relevant, and grounded in meaningful consumer benefits.
As a key cross-functional partner, you will work closely with product management, engineering, design, PR, regional marketing, creative teams, and agency partners. This role requires the ability to gather and synthesize feedback from many stakeholders, evaluate opportunities and trade-offs, and make thoughtful recommendations based on consumer needs, competitive dynamics, brand strategy, and the needs of the business.
Scope of Responsibilities
Develop and evolve global positioning, value propositions, and messaging frameworks for the razr franchise.
Translate product features, design innovations, and technology experiences into clear, consumer-centered benefits.
Serve as the voice of the consumer throughout the product journey, influencing product storytelling, launch strategy, and go-to-market priorities.
Partner closely with product management, engineering, design, PR, regional marketing, and creative teams to ensure alignment across franchise strategy and execution.
Lead product marketing briefs and integrated marketing kickoffs to align internal teams and agency partners around key objectives, audiences, messages, and deliverables.
Synthesize feedback from multiple stakeholders and make balanced, business-minded recommendations that support global priorities and launch readiness.
Conduct competitive research across the premium smartphone, foldable, and lifestyle technology categories to identify opportunities, risks, and areas of differentiation.
Analyze consumer insights, customer experience metrics, competitive value propositions, and market feedback to continuously optimize product positioning and storytelling.
Partner with PR and creative teams to develop compelling narratives that resonate with press, influencers, consumers, and internal stakeholders.
Support global launch planning and execution, ensuring key messages and assets are consistent, compelling, and adaptable across regions and channels.
Monitor consumer usage, sentiment, and market response to identify learnings and recommend opportunities to strengthen future razr positioning and product marketing strategy.
Qualifications
Very strong fluency in the English language, as this is a global role and all key deliverables, materials, and messaging for review will be in English.
5+ years of experience in marketing, product marketing, brand marketing, or related fields; experience in consumer technology, smartphones, premium products, or lifestyle brands is a strong plus.
Proven ability to develop clear positioning, messaging, and consumer-facing narratives for complex products or experiences.
Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience working across product management, engineering, design, PR, creative, regional marketing, and global stakeholders.
Ability to synthesize diverse feedback, identify key business implications, and make thoughtful recommendations based on consumer needs and business priorities.
Proven ability to achieve results in a fast-moving, dynamic environment.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills; experience interacting with colleagues, management, and global cross-functional teams.
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or equivalent experience.
