Job Summary
The L3 Network Automation Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and operating scalable network automation solutions across enterprise environments. The role focuses on transforming manual network operations into automated, reliable, and auditable workflows using modern automation platforms, scripting, and ITSM integrations. Key Responsibilities
Automation Development & Engineering Design and develop network automation workflows for provisioning, configuration, incident response, and change management Build reusable automation modules, scripts, and frameworks using Python/Ansible/REST APIs Translate network runbooks and SOPs into automated workflows with validation and rollback mechanisms [HCL_Automa...r_iTential | Word] Platform & Integration Integrate automation solutions with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow) for ticket-driven execution (incident/change/request) [HCL_Automa...r_iTential | Word] Enable CI/CD practices using version control tools (e.g., Git/Bitbucket) for automation lifecycle management [HCL_Automa...r_iTential | Word] Work with orchestration platforms (e.g., iTential, Terraform, Jenkins) Operations & Support (L3 Responsibilities) Provide L3 escalation support for automation-related issues and failures Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective automation improvements [HCL_Automa...r_iTential | Word] Ensure automation reliability with testing, validation, and audit mechanisms Network & Domain Alignment Collaborate with network SMEs to automate use cases across: LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, VPN Routing & Switching (BGP, OSPF, VLAN, etc.) Security (Firewall, Load Balancer, WAF) [Immediate...Level 3) | Viva Engage] Ensure automation aligns with design standards, compliance, and security policies Continuous Improvement Identify high-value automation opportunities to reduce manual effort and operational risk Drive standardization, scalability, and governance across automation initiatives Mentor L1/L2 engineers on automation adoption and practices
