What You’ll do (the role)
Summary
Produce and maintain accurate and complete sets of accounts relating to Solar operating assets since the development phase. Maintain the chart of accounts within the assigned area, orchestrate sound financial and managerial reporting, and ensure the success and timeliness of debt service and equity distributions.
Duties and Responsibilities
Management Accounts
- Responsible to produce monthly management accounts
- Reconcile account balances, maintain the general ledger, and perform month-end close duties
- Ensure all underlying accounting records are maintained in accordance business policies
- Work closely with our internal business partners to ensure all relevant information requests are delivered accurately and within agreed timescales
- Deal with dual ERP reconciliation
Budgets & Forecasts
- Work with other members of the finance team and internal business partners to ensure accurate project budgets and forecasts are produced and maintained
Financial Processes and Systems
- Manage local chart of accounts and uphold full knowledge of entity structure
- Push forward improvements in financial processes/systems and support implementation when needed, including suggesting automations
- Liaise with internal Accounts Payable department to ensure a smooth purchase to pay process and with accounts receivables for order to cash
- Provide treasury support where needed
- Gain an understanding of the financial systems used and assist training new individuals
Audit and Tax and Entity Compliance
- Assist with the preparation of all schedules and supporting information required for quarterly audit procedures
- Assist in the preparation of schedules for monthly tax payments, and year end corporate returns
- Liaise with the external auditors and tax advisors as required
- Maintain company entity listing and work with internal tax group to update compliance register
General day to day activity
- Take a hands-on approach where required, processing entries for all ledgers as necessary
- Take ownership and pride in the accuracy, quality, and timeliness of financial information
- Preparation of monthly accounts package in line with agreed deadlines
- Liaising with other members of the wider finance team
- Taking an analytic approach to all tasks at hand, and providing insight to help in
Who we’re looking for
Knowledge
- Intermediate English
- Advanced Excel Skills
- Advanced accounting, including asset depreciation calculation and revenue recognition, as well as Brazilian taxes on revenues
- General understanding of Treasury and FP&A
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in accounting, Business (Finance) or Economy
- Demonstrate excellent MS Excel skills
- Accurate data input essential
Experience
- +6 Years of experience in controlling or accounting, preferably from Power Generating Industry for assets in operation.
- Experience of treasury and FP&A;
- Previous Experience with Independent External Audit
- Experience with working with several entities, projects and areas at once.
- Experience with Senior Lenders
- Experience with due diligence is a plus
- Experience with Tax Planning is a plus
- Experience with divestments is a plus
