Catastrophe (CAT) Modeler

What the day will look like
In this role, you will be a key member of our catastrophe modeling team, providing analytical support across a variety of projects and helping to further develop our in-house CAT modeling tools for inland CAT applications. You will collaborate with brokers, actuaries and other specialists to deliver high-quality, client-ready analyses and insights.
Coordinate with other analysts to develop and maintain in-house CAT modeling tools for inland catastrophe applications.-
Provide catastrophe modeling support across multiple projects and client assignments.

Work closely with other team members who serve the client, including brokers, actuaries, Rating Agency specialists and others.

Produce meaningful catastrophe analysis and clearly explain standard analyses through professional written and verbal communication.

Provide real-time loss estimates of actual catastrophic events in Latin America.

Continue to build proficiency in using CatMetrica and SQL to support modeling and analytical work.

Further develop understanding of (re)insurance terminology and products, including how terms and conditions and exposure characteristics impact modeling outputs.

Prepare client-ready presentations that communicate complex modeling results and insights in a clear, concise way.

As a Catastrophe (CAT) Modeler at Aon, you will work with all major model vendors, deepen your understanding of model methodologies and assumptions, and help refine our in-house tools to better support clients across Latin America.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
Catastrophe modeling experience across all major model vendors (including AIR and RMS), with in-depth knowledge of underlying model methodologies and assumptions os descrevendo as principais habilidades/experiências.
- Advanced user of Excel, Access and PowerPoint; SQL knowledge preferred but not required.

Bilingual English/Portuguese, with well-rounded written and verbal communication skills.

Strong interpersonal skills and prior experience collaborating with clients and senior stakeholders, both internally and externally.

Proven ability to take ownership of tasks, work independently and proactively, and manage multiple assignments while meeting deadlines.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prepare clear, client-ready presentations.

Degree in Accounting, Economics, Actuarial Science, Finance, Engineering or a related field.
