About the role and team
Interns at Uber don't just observe - they build. You'll take on meaningful projects, move fast, and be trusted from day one. In this role, you will work alongside a collective of doers to tackle ambitious problems, designing and developing software that impacts millions of users who rely on the Uber platform every day.
You will join a dynamic, supportive team of backend, frontend, and mobile engineers, along with product managers and data scientists. This environment is built for those who thrive in a high-growth, fast-paced setting where you are expected to take ownership of your work and contribute to the real-world movement of people and assets globally.
What you'll do
- Work with your manager and mentor to drive exciting, ambiguous, previously unsolved projects from end to end.

Design, develop, and test software applications and components using Uber's modern technology stack.

Propose ideas, implement solutions, experiment, and launch features that directly impact the customer experience for riders, drivers, and merchants.

Keep the bar high on sustainable engineering by following best practices for code health, documentation, testing, and monitoring.

Influence other engineers and stakeholders by applying technical knowledge to evaluate complex data and resolve technical issues.

Own your work with independence, moving projects forward while collaborating with cross-functional teams across different global offices.
Basic Qualifications
- Actively pursuing a Bachelor's (3rd/4th year) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

Expected graduation date of July or December 2027(only) (applications with other graduation dates will not be considered)
- Minimum of 10 months of availability for the internship. *(If you are going to graduate in 2028+, please take this time to prepare yourself better and soon we will open new opportunities again.)
- English proficiency: Able to present ideas in a comprehensive, yet succinct manner. It's required for daily team communications, meetings, and global collaboration.
Please note: The interview process will be conducted entirely in English.
- Prior exposure to software engineering best practices through university projects, coding challenges, or previous internships.

Proficiency in one or more application or systems languages such as Go, Python, Java, or C/C++.

Available to start on October, 2026 and work 30 hours a week for at least 10 months - hybrid mode (mandatory to be Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday @the office in Sao Paulo city)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building scalable tools or infrastructure in a fast-paced environment.

A strong commitment to writing understandable, maintainable, and reusable software.

Demonstrated ability to learn new languages and methodologies quickly.
Evidence of technical leadership or initiative in hackathons and coding competitions.
