What are we looking for
We’re looking for a Database Administrator to join a global team managing high-performance MySQL databases across both cloud and on-prem environments.
OverviewIn this role, you will be responsible for deploying, managing, and optimizing Linux-based database environments, ensuring reliability, performance, and scalability for critical applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage MySQL databases supporting internal and customer-facing applications
- Design and implement backup, replication, and deployment processes
- Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues proactively
- Partner with development teams to improve database efficiency
- Implement high availability and disaster recovery strategies
- Manage user access following least-privilege best practices
- Coordinate patching, upgrades, and maintenance schedules
- Support data protection initiatives, including handling of PII
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience as a Database Administrator (MySQL preferred)
- Experience with AWS and on-prem environments
- Strong knowledge of backup, replication, and performance tuning
- Experience with patching, upgrades, and migrations
- Scripting experience for automation
- Ability to act as an escalation point for database-related issues
- Availability for occasional after-hours support
