Position Summary
The Regional OPEX Manager provides centralized leadership, governance, and strategic direction for operational excellence across all LATAM manufacturing sites. The role exists to close a critical gap left by a decentralized, plant-only Continuous Improvement (CI) structure — one that, while effective locally, limits the organization's ability to scale best practices, standardize operating systems, and align operational improvement with regional business priorities.
Responsible for working closely with plant leadership and cross-functional teams to diagnose and resolve issues impacting operational performance, as rate, yield, crewing, service level, lead-time and quality challenges which have a material impact on Supply Chain performance.
Oversee performance of operational-related functions across LATAM and develop OPEX strategy for the region, taking account the maturity of each site and create a roadmap of operational excellence tools and culture implementation. This role will also support budget process and targets definition.
IMPORTANT: This role requires fluency in both English and Spanish. Please ensure your resume/CV is submitted in English to be considered for this opportunity.
Responsibilities
Standardization & Governance
Establish and own a common LATAM OPEX framework, KPIs, and maturity standards aligned with global practices and goals.
Balance and coordinate FPMP (cost/productivity savings program) needs across the region.
Drive consistent deployment of Lean, structured problem-solving, TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), and daily management systems across all plants.
Enable transparent benchmarking and performance tracking across the LATAM plant network.
Accelerated Cost & Productivity Improvements
Lead the rapid replication of best practices across plants, including scrap and downtime reduction, yield and run-rate improvement, and changeover optimization.
Coordinate regional kaizen events and focused improvement waves to accelerate measurable operational gains.
Directly leading and/or participating in kaizen events and other continuous improvement efforts.
Partnering with Supply Chain Operations leaders to ensure improvement efforts are completed in a timely manner.
Reviewing monthly trends and understanding categories which are over/underperforming.
Participating in financial management calls, taking action and leading investigations as applicable.
Supporting performance improvement initiative pipeline growth and health.
Identifying opportunities and supporting plants in transforming the opportunities into executable action plans.
Capability Building & Talent Development
Develop and coach plant-level Continuous Improvement Leaders (PILs) and operations teams across the region.
Teaching, demonstrating and coordinate lean implementation efforts and activities on the manufacturing/production floor such as Kanban, Material Conveyance, Production flow, Super Market design and deployment, Value Stream Mapping, Takt time analysis, Problem-Solving, Standardized work, Set-up reduction, 5S, Visual Workplace, and Error-Proofing, 5S, TPM, SMED/QCO, Visual Factory, Kaizen, Scheduling, etc.
Build a structured OPEX capability and leadership pipeline for LATAM.
Reduce dependency on individual plant champions by strengthening succession planning and cross-plant capability.
Leverage loss elimination tools and foster high performance culture.
Owns the Key-to-Success program regionally.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor Degree required, technical degree preferred.
5 years minimum leadership experience in manufacturing.
Green Belt Certification preferred.
Proven experience as a Plant Continuous Improvement Leader (PIL) or Operational Excellence Manager within a manufacturing environment, ideally with multi-site or regional exposure.
Demonstrated expertise in Lean Manufacturing, TPM, structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., A3, Six Sigma, Kaizen), and daily management systems.
Track record of deploying standardized frameworks and KPIs across multiple manufacturing sites.
Additional Qualifications
Experience coaching and developing plant-level CI leaders and building capability pipelines.
Fluent in Spanish and English; ability to work across LATAM cultures and business contexts.
Willingness and ability to travel regularly across LATAM manufacturing sites (15-20%).
Experience managing people in a manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience in a supply chain environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills (Spanish & English) along with professional presentation and negotiation skills.
Must be flexible, innovative and comfortable in setting own priorities.
Ability to present complex analysis with clarity.
Ability to understand accounting and financial processes related to the business.
Polished presentation, business acumen and facilitation skills.
Strategic and systems thinking — able to translate global OPEX standards into a coherent regional framework.
Strong influencing and matrix-leadership skills, driving change without direct line authority over plant teams.
Data-driven mindset with strong benchmarking, analytical, and performance-tracking capability.
