In coordination with the Operations Manager or delegated Rig Manager, and under the overall guidance, the Operations Engineer shall be responsible for supporting the overall operation of the rig, whilst ensuring that the rig is operated in accordance Borr Drilling’s core processes, performance, and maintenance standards.

Assist the managers and offshore teams onboard with compliance of the Operation Manuals, QHSE policy and management/maintenance system requirements.

Ensure that the rig or rigs are operated within the frame of the Drilling Contract and in accordance with Borr’s approved operating budget.

Assist with the management and tracking of all client reimbursables charges within the contracts and assist the manager where applicable on recharges.

Manage that tracking of Rig KPIs conducted onboard and monitor these across the units in line with the Operations Directors directive.

Ensure that proper lines of communication are established between Rig team and operations support and vendors (internally and externally).

Endeavor to establish a good working relationship with the Operators representatives both onshore and offshore and attend all daily operations calls as directed.

Ensure that the rig equipment down and overdue PMs are being properly tracked in accordance with the established maintenance system.

Manage all aspects of Rig warm stacking and reactivation scopes and planning in accordance with the tasks set out by the Rig manager/Operations Director.

Support all aspects of the tender process within the region under the guidance and directive of the Operations team Rig manager or Operations Director.

Manage the respective AFE trackers that fall within your Country of remit or as directed by the Operations Director.

Assist and manage all new build reactivations and contract preparations under the directive of the Rig Manager and Operations Director.

Be actively involved in the costing of contract preparation costs for new contracts and manage and track regional trends and CP costs.

Ensure that the established QHSE system including the operations manual and all offshore procedures are implemented, maintained, and adhered to.

Complete frequent visits offshore and have daily interactions with the OIM’s where applicable.

Provide temporary cover for Rig Managers as required.

Reports directly to the Regional Operations Director. or Rig Manager.

Corresponds directly with the Rig team and regional support in the interest of improved Operational, HSE, Finance, Technical, Marine and SC efficiency.

Deals directly with vendors under the guidance of the Operations Director and regional HODs on upcoming scopes both Borr and client based, planning for warm stacking and reactivation.

Responsibility to oversee all aspects of the operation offshore and coordinate onshore.

Has the remit to make decisions that would achieve increased operational efficiency, improve safety, improve tracking and documentation, and improve client relations

Position is as a regional Operations Engineer, which is a development role with the next step being direct promotion to Rig Manager or subject to further development needs, alternative departments, and roles.

Role is Office based, but travel and mobility is essential within the region.

Well Control Certification (showing knowledge of drilling understanding).

Bachelor’s degree or higher or technical college.

Rig Engineer Program graduate.

Prior experience spent offshore with Drilling Experience.

Fluent in English (verbal and written) with the ability to work in a multicultural environment.

Willing to work within the region or globally should the need arise.
