Ensure the safe, reliable, compliant, and cost-effective operation and maintenance of site utilities—including steam, HVAC, electrical systems, fire suppression and detection, compressed air, SCADA, nitrogen distribution, chilled water, and purified water systems—to support uninterrupted plant operations.
This role also provides senior-level technical guidance, supports training of new staff, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives across the Utilities function.
- Perform end-to-end preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on manufacturing equipment, utilities, systems, and installations to minimize production downtime and ensure reliable operations.

Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment faults efficiently while ensuring full compliance with cGMP, EHS, Good Engineering Practices, and company procedures.

Provide advanced technical support to optimize equipment performance, safety, reliability, and operational efficiency.

Review and maintain maintenance handover documentation to ensure effective communication and continuity across shifts.

Execute routine inspections and preventive maintenance activities, while reviewing maintenance schedules to improve equipment performance and reliability.

Accurately document all maintenance activities in accordance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and site procedures.

Report and escalate equipment deviations, failures, and non-conformances, supporting timely corrective actions.

Lead complex troubleshooting and Root Cause Problem Solving (RCPS) investigations, implementing sustainable corrective and preventive actions.

Analyse production and equipment performance data to identify opportunities for improving equipment reliability and manufacturing efficiency.

Support the design, installation, modification, commissioning, and maintenance of production equipment and facility systems.

Assist with spare parts inventory management, stock control, and maintenance planning to ensure equipment availability.

Support equipment qualification, validation, and calibration activities as required.

Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintenance procedures, Risk Assessments, and Safe Isolation Instructions (SII).

Coach, mentor, and train new maintenance technicians and production operators on equipment operation, maintenance best practices, and safe working procedures.

Supervise external contractors during maintenance and installation activities, ensuring compliance with site standards, cGMP, and EHS requirements.

Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability, productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.

Maintain work areas, tools, and company property in a safe, clean, and orderly condition.

Perform additional duties as assigned to support Manufacturing and Engineering operations.
Skills
-
Full technician certificate or Advanced Technician Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of MQF Level 4.

Basic computer literacy is essential.
Experience
-
Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar technical/maintenance role

Experience in utilities systems (HVAC, electrical, compressed air, water systems, etc.)

Experience in a regulated environment (e.g., pharmaceutical manufacturing) is preferred
-
Strong knowledge of preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance of production equipment.

Experience working in cGMP-regulated environments and familiarity with Good Engineering Practices and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).

Proven troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues.

Experience supporting equipment qualification, calibration, and validation activities.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and engineering documentation.

Basic computer literacy, including experience with Microsoft Office and, ideally, computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
