We are seeking a professional passionate about food innovation, with a focus on enzymatic applications in protein-based raw materials, to join our team as a Researcher I.
We are looking for someone with strong teamwork skills, who is organized and able to adapt quickly, with hands-on laboratory experience and 100% bench-scale work. The candidate should demonstrate practical knowledge in enzyme applications and have familiarity with protein matrices of animal, plant, and microbial origin. It is also important to have the ability to evaluate, interpret, and communicate laboratory results clearly and in a structured manner.
Main Responsibilities:
- Conducted laboratory-scale enzyme application and optimization studies, focusing on process efficiency, experimental reproducibility, and analytical performance.
- Performed biochemical and compositional characterization of raw materials, including sample preparation and analytical support for HPLC-based evaluations.
- Designed, executed, and monitored experimental protocols using structured experimental design methodologies to support research and process development activities.
- Interpreted experimental and analytical data to generate technical insights, support decision-making, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Managed laboratory routines, experimental planning, and compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), ensuring organization, traceability, and high-quality scientific execution.
Requirements:
- Knowledge in quantification and physicochemical characterization of proteins, quantification of oils and lipids, and determination of proximate composition (bromatological analysis).
- Relevant experience includes work in R&D laboratories, technical application centers, and/or university laboratories or similar environments.
- Educational background includes Biotechnology, Bioprocess Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Food Engineering, or related fields
Nice-to-Have
- Experience in the collagen, flavors, and functional foods industries will be considered an advantage. Intermediate to advanced Spanish is also desirable, as well as postgraduate studies (Master’s degree or specialization) in Bioprocesses, Food Engineering, Biotechnology, or related areas.
