What We're Looking For The Opportunity
KPIT Brasil is seeking a Powertrain Feature Engineer to support the development, integration, and validation of next-generation powertrain software.
In this role, you will work with MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow to develop and optimize embedded software features for advanced automotive applications. Collaborating with global engineering teams, you will contribute to the design, implementation, and validation of robust software solutions that power the future of mobility.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, integrate, and maintain powertrain software features using MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow
- Support Model-Based Development (MBD) activities, including feature implementation, optimization, and validation
- Perform debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis to ensure robust feature performance
- Develop automation scripts and tools to improve engineering efficiency and software quality
- Support AUTOSAR-compliant software development and auto code generation activities using RTW and TargetLink
- Execute and support MIL, SIL, Unit Testing, and HIL validation activities
- Review technical artifacts and ensure compliance with development processes, coding standards, and quality guidelines
Collaborate with customers and global engineering teams through technical reviews, Agile ceremonies, and project discussions

What We're Looking For
- 4–7 years of experience in automotive embedded software development
- Strong hands-on experience with MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow
- Experience with Model-Based Development (MBD)
- Experience with auto code generation tools, including RTW and TargetLink
- Knowledge of AUTOSAR architecture and software development concepts
- Experience with MIL, SIL, and Unit Testing
- Understanding of embedded software development processes and methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, etc.)
- Experience with requirements analysis, specification, and feature development
- Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with MATLAB scripting (M-Scripting)
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline

Nice To Have
- Experience in Powertrain Controls, Control Systems, or Performance Control applications
- Knowledge of automotive communication protocols such as CAN, SPI, UART, and I2C
- Familiarity with CAN tools and network analysis
- Experience with NI VeriStand or other HIL platforms
- Exposure to Functional Safety (ISO 26262)
- Experience with AUTOSAR-based feature development projects
Automotive calibration experience
