Job Summary
The Key Account Manager is responsible for working with Wego’s global product management team to develop new accounts for our existing chemical and ingredient product lines with end-use manufacturers. This position will focus on key industrial markets, including Agro Sciences, Crop Protection, Water Treatment, and Household, Industrial, and Institutional segments, in Brazil and the Southern Cone of South America. Key Account Managers have an excellent understanding of their product and industry niche and are tasked with developing high-level clients while growing and maintaining strategic relationships within their region.
Responsibilities
- Cultivate and grow a healthy business portfolio within the designated geography, using a long-term perspective.
- Manage the entire sales channel, generate leads, gain approvals, negotiate prices, obtain orders, and maintain the business.
- Conduct market research, attend trade shows, and stay current with industry trends.
- Aid in demand forecasting to inform the purchasing patterns of Wego’s various product groups related to your industry category.
- Anticipate and proactively respond to business needs and the needs of your customers.
- Prepare and provide short and long-term sales forecasts.
- Communicate effectively and assertively with teammates and geography leadership.
Key Qualifications
- 10+ years of proven experience in sales & marketing of chemicals & ingredients to the key accounts in the designated geography.
- High-energy, go-getter attitude with an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Ability to foster and manage customer relationships with a client-friendly personality.
- Ability to self-organize and take ultimate accountability for customer satisfaction.
- Commitment to going above and beyond to make clients happy, with a “no task too small” outlook.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience using a CRM, such as Salesforce, is desirable.
- Must be fluent in Portuguese and English; Spanish is a plus.
- College degree required in chemical engineering, business, or marketing.
- MBA is a plus
