About the role
The Junior Financial Analyst provides foundational support in financial analysis, reporting, and data management activities at MUST University. This role is responsible for assisting in the preparation of financial reports, maintaining data accuracy, and supporting routine analysis to ensure consistency and reliability of financial information.
The position focuses on executing structured tasks, performing data validation and reconciliations, and supporting the Finance team with timely and accurate financial insights.
What you'll do

Prepare recurring financial reports and support the analysis of financial results.

Compile, organize, and maintain financial data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and consistency.

Perform data validation and basic reconciliations to identify discrepancies and support data integrity.

Support the review of financial results by comparing actual data against budget and prior periods.

Assist in tracking expenses, revenue, and other financial metrics for reporting purposes.

Maintain and update financial spreadsheets, reports, and templates following established procedures.

Support monthly close activities by preparing supporting schedules and validating financial data.

Assist in the preparation of financial analyses and summaries for internal use.

Organize and maintain financial documentation and working files in accordance with internal standards.

Follow up with internal departments to collect required financial and operational information.

Support process documentation and assist in maintaining standardized reporting procedures.

Provide support for ad hoc financial requests and administrative tasks within the Finance team.

Other tasks inherent to this role and designated projects by the Finance leadership.
Qualifications
Education
-
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related analytical field required.
Experience
-
One 1-2 years of relevant experience in financial planning and analysis, business analysis, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, or corporate finance required. Internship experience in finance, operations, or analytical roles may be considered.
Language Skills

Professional proficiency in English (speaking, reading, and writing) required. Portuguese preferred.
General Skills and Knowledge

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; advanced familiarity with formulas, pivots, and structured reporting.

Experience with data visualization or BI tools, Power BI preferred.

Basic understanding of budgeting, forecasting, P&L analysis, SG&A control, and financial variance analysis.

Ability to work accurately with large datasets, reconcile information, and maintain attention to detail.

Exposure to ERP, accounting, planning, or student information systems preferred.

Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
