What you’ll do:
As a Senior Surface Designer at Electrolux, you will be involved in every aspect of the physical product design process. This includes helping the Industrial Designers to explore different design concepts through the usage of surface tools like Rhino, Alias, Grasshopper and other advanced generative parametric tools, enhance the surface quality to build appearance mockups and finalize the surface with high quality considering all the feasibility aspects of the projects and delivery it to R&D team with the design aspects ready to prepare the final tooling.
In detail, you will:
- Understanding and interpreting design briefs, sketches, or concept art to develop 3D surface designs that meet the project requirements.
- Using 3D modeling software to create detailed models of surfaces and objects. This involves refining surfaces to achieve the desired aesthetic.
- Setting up lighting, camera angles, and rendering settings to produce high-quality images or animations of the 3D models. This might involve using rendering engines such as Keyshot and some VR application like Unreal engine.
- Working closely with other members of the creative team, manage multiple projects in different stages at the same time, build the bridges between design and the other technical areas like internal R&D, Manufacturing, and external suppliers.
- Receiving feedback on designs and making necessary revisions to refine and improve the visual quality of the 3D surfaces.
- Staying updated with the latest trends, techniques, and software tools in 3D design to maintain high standards of quality and efficiency.
As part of the culture of continuous improvement, you will be involved in Lean Thinking projects and activities (EMS/EAI).
Who you are:
- You have a degree or higher-level qualification in a relevant design or engineer
- Relevant experience in home appliance products or automotive industries with a proven track record of excellent surface design performance in previous positions.
- Highly developed computer design skills: Alias, Rhino, CatiaV5, Illustrator, Photoshop, Keyshot and
other relevant design softwares.
- Organized to deal with several projects at the same time.
- Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude, and work respectfully with others.
- All candidates MUST submit a portfolio/personal website to be considered for this position.
