Job Description
The HR Business Partner (HRBP) role is pivotal in driving HR service delivery, fostering strong business alignment, and implementing innovative people solutions for the logistics function of Daraz. This position focuses on providing strategic HR guidance, managing employee relations, developing team structures, and ensuring seamless execution of HR initiatives to enhance organizational effectiveness.
Job Responsibilities:
Oversee the HR Service Delivery model, managing outsourced vendors and ensuring efficient regional operations.
Evaluate and optimize team structures within the logistics business unit, leveraging market research and competitive insights.
Provide ongoing HR policy guidance and employee life cycle support for both full-time and contractual staff.
Stay updated on industry best practices, implementing innovative HR strategies to position the organization as a leader in the HR space.
Act as a key liaison with HR Centers of Excellence (COEs) to coordinate the design and implementation of people strategies, programs, and processes.
Serve as trusted advisor on sensitive ER matters, especially in high-stress, physically demanding environments (e.g., shift disputes, attendance challenges, safety incident investigations).
Ensure full compliance with Sri Lankan Labour Ordinance, Shop & Office Employees Act, EPF/ETF regulations, and Daraz’s internal policies, with proactive audits and training.
Partner with Logistics Leadership to forecast headcount, skill gaps, and succession needs across FF, Sort, First & Last Mile factoring in seasonality, automation roadmap.
Design & implement targeted retention initiatives for high-turnover roles (e.g., delivery hero’s, OSP staff), including career pathing, recognition programs, and localized well-being support.
Lead end-to-end recruitment for critical Logistics roles partnering with TA to optimize sourcing, reduce time-to-fill, and enhance candidate experience.
Track and analyze key HR metrics specific to Logistics: attrition by role/location, absenteeism, OT hours per person safety incident rates, engagement (via quarterly pulse surveys), and cost-per-employee.
Position Requirement
Qualification & Experience
BBA/MBA with majors in Human Resource Management
5-8 years of experience in HRBP role
Deep knowledge of Sri Lankan labour law, collective bargaining (if applicable), and payroll/EPF/ETF compliance.
Ability to quickly scale up and develop a thorough understanding of the organization's hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Deep understanding of all HR functions and best practices
Proficiency in HRIS (e.g., SAP SuccessFactors, or similar) and data tools (Excel, Power BI basics).
Exposure to gig-economy workforce models and regulatory frameworks in Sri Lanka.
Background in safety-critical industries (e.g., transport, warehousing, construction).
