ACCOUNTING TECHNICIAN
LOCATION OF POSITION: BRAZIL

SUMMARY:
Reporting directly to the President & CFO, the Accounting Technician person will have a critical financial support role. The Accounting Technician main responsibilities include managing day-to-day bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, and account reconciliations. The Accounting Technician ensure financial records comply with Brazil’s complex tax regulations. The person will be required to take over other accounting responsibilities as the role progresses.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Accounting Ledger Management: Record daily financial transaction and classify supporting receipts or vouchers
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process supplier invoices, schedule payments, issue customer billing and monitor collections
- Bank reconciliations: perform daily bank reconciliation and resolve any cash flow discrepancies
- Tax Support: Prepare standard documentation for monthly tax filings (PIS, COFINS, ISS, ICMS) and maintain orderly tax archives
- Payroll: preparation for the Brazilian payroll (Folha de Pagamento) and calculation of labor taxes (FGTS, INSS)
- Closing & Reporting: Assist with month-end and year-end close processes and generate initial trial balances
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS.
- Education: A diploma, associate degree, or certification in Accounting, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of bookkeeping practices and Microsoft Excel
- Software Proficiency: familiar with ERP system and localized financial management tools.
- Year-End Audit: Assist with year-end audit files.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- Experience with the complete cycle.
- Understanding of intercompany structures.
- Excellent command of the Office suite, especially Excel (v lookups, pivot tables, etc.).
- Must be flexible to organize and prioritize multiple tasks and a variable workload with limited supervision.
- Professionalism, integrity, sense of responsibility and autonomy are prerequisites.
- Mandatory: EXCELLENT ENGLISH (spoken and written)
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment
