The Engineering team discovers, develops and evaluates new product ideas, enhancements, or strategic product extensions, and translates research discoveries into usable and marketable products. Leads, plans and tracks all phases of the product life cycle, from inception to introduction into the marketplace. Coordinates with various functions to ensure successful product development and implementation.
Mechanical Analyst is mainly responsible for components and Subsystem design for console, door, drawer, chassis, cavity and packaging for free standing ranges, wall ovens and cooktops. Also are responsible for the product thermal development. Mechanicals Analyst belongs to the Latin America Mechanical Subsystem team, in this role the candidate will work on product development for Brazil and Mexico Whirlpool manufacturing locations.

Solving problems and finding reliable technical solutions for the application

Creating ideas for new designs, cost reduction and quality improvement projects

Develop and capture knowledge required to deliver subsystem level excellence through Design Guides, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), Design Verification plan and its results, Tolerance Stack Ups, and other documents.

Cooperating with other functions (marketing, design, industrial engineering, procurement, quality, etc)

Supporting Product Specification based on released documentation and validated tests

Support benchmarking activities, experimentation, data analysis via statistical tools

Coordinate prototype build plans to evaluate design concepts through physical lab testing
- Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field desired

Experience in the same or very similar role
Experience in component/product development lifecycle management
Drawing experience and GD&T (Geometry Dimensioning & Tolerancing) application (tolerance definition and analysis),
Experience in component/product development with 3D CAD modeling (desired, not mandatory)
Knowledge of DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis), Requirements management, 6SIGMA tools
Knowledge in tooling construction is a plus
Good planning, communication and concept development skills
Able to work in multicultural environment
Ability to work under time pressure
Resilience, multidisciplinary approach

Knowledge on thermal is an advantage
Good communication skills in written and spoken English is a must
Spanish language knowledge is an advantage
