Marita Freight & Trade is seeking a Market Intelligence & Data Analytics Analyst to support business growth initiatives, commercial expansion activities, and maritime market intelligence.
The selected candidate will play a critical role in commercial intelligence capabilities, market visibility, lead generation processes, and key support of the business development initiatives within the Ocean Dry Bulk Freight and Commodity trade.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, organize, verify, and maintain commercial databases and industry intelligence resources.
- Conduct ocean dry bulk freight market research and international commodity market intelligence analysis.
- Identify and study consumption behavior of importers, exporters, shippers, consignees’ companies that are currently and potentially using ocean dry bulk freight services and trading commodities.
- Identify market opportunities, industry trends, and business expansion prospects.
- Support lead generation activities, prospecting initiatives, and commercial pipeline development.
- Conduct cold-calling and outreach activities to support business development efforts.
- Perform competitor analysis and market benchmarking to identify competitive advantages and market positioning opportunities.
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of the sales onboarding process by overseeing compliance reviews, accreditation requirements, and client registration in company systems, approving the initiation of operations for new clients.
- Support CRM administration and maintain accurate commercial data and customer records.
- Maintain client registrations, documentation, and compliance records up to date.
- Utilize AI tools, analytics solutions, and digital research platforms to improve market intelligence processes and operational efficiency.
- Prepare market intelligence reports, research findings, business analyses, and sales KPI dashboards to support strategic decision-making and social media and digital publications.
- Support sales, chartering, and business development activities by providing commercial insights and market intelligence.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Conduct market intelligence research and commercial analysis.
- Identify business opportunities and emerging market trends.
- Build and maintain strategic databases of prospects and market information.
- Analyze customer needs and competitor activity.
- Generate actionable insights to support sales and chartering decisions.
- Utilize AI and data analytics tools to improve commercial intelligence.
- Maritime industry experience is highly preferred.
- International business or freight industry exposure is considered an advantage.
- Learn to manage Ship next and other chartering and freight databases
- Understand Bloomberg and how other market research tools work.
