Location: Betim, MG, Brazil (Hybrid)
Experience: 4–9 Years
Domain: Body Electronics (BCM, HVAC, Access, Lighting, Seats)
Core Stack: dSPACE (Scalexio), Python/CAPL, Vector Tools, MATLAB/Simulink
The Opportunity
KPIT Brasil is seeking a high-caliber HIL Validation Engineer to drive the verification and validation of next-generation automotive Body Electronics. In this role, you will bridge the gap between complex software logic and the physical world, utilizing advanced dSPACE HIL systems to simulate sophisticated vehicle environments.
You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and safety of critical systems—such as Body Control Modules (BCM), HVAC, and Access modules—meeting the highest performance standards for global automotive OEMs.
Technical Excellence & Key Responsibilities
- HIL System Orchestration: Lead the validation of Body Domain ECUs using dSPACE HIL platforms (PHS/Scalexio). You will commission HIL rigs, manage wiring harnesses/breakout boxes, and debug complex hardware-software integration issues.
- Test Automation & Scripting: Drive testing efficiency by developing automated test frameworks and sophisticated test scripts using Python or CAPL to reduce manual testing overhead.
- Plant Modeling & Simulation: Utilize MATLAB/Simulink to understand and support plant modeling, ensuring the HIL environment accurately simulates real-world physical dynamics and electrical loads.
- Test Lifecycle Management: Architect comprehensive HIL test specifications, design rigorous test cases, and deliver detailed technical reports within an Agile/ASPICE-compliant framework.
- Failure Analysis: Act as a "Technical Detective," performing deep-dive root cause analysis on complex failures within the test environment to ensure rapid resolution and software stability.
Technical Expertise Required
- dSPACE Mastery: Hands-on expertise with dSPACE HIL hardware and software ( ControlDesk, AutomationDesk, ConfigurationDesk ).
- Communication Protocols: Deep knowledge of CAN/LIN protocols and UDS services/ECU diagnostics.
- Vector Toolchain: Proficiency with CANoe, CANalyzer, or CANape for communication setup and bus analysis.
- Test Automation: Strong coding skills in Python or CAPL for creating robust test automation.
- Debugging Excellence: Proven ability to debug both functional ECU software and the physical HIL test environment.
- Requirement Management: Experience working with industry-standard tools such as DOORS or PREEvision .
- Language: Advanced or Bilingual English level (for global collaboration).
The Differentiators
- Advanced Protocols: Experience with CAN-FD, FlexRay, or Automotive Ethernet .
- Complex Integration: Exposure to multi-ECU HIL setups and system-level integration testing.
- Model Awareness: Deep understanding of ARXML models and HIL simulator plant models.
- Advanced Debugging: Familiarity with Trace32 or Wireshark .
Who You Are
- An Investigator: You don't just find bugs; you find their source. You thrive on the challenge of root-cause analysis.
- A Systems Thinker: You understand how a single line of code affects the physical hardware and the entire vehicle network.
- An Agile Collaborator: You thrive in fast-paced, iterative environments and communicate technical complexity with clarity.
The Reward
- Hybrid Flexibility: A balanced work model in Betim, MG, designed for both lab-based precision and remote focus.
- Competitive Compensation: Salary packages that recognize your specialized HIL and automotive expertise.
- Career Growth: Clear progression within KPIT’s massive global automotive engineering network.
- Impact: The opportunity to validate the systems that define the driver experience in the next generation of software-defined vehicles.
