The Role:
- Act as the key interface between clients and Brennan’s Security Engineering teams, translating business requirements into actionable technical outcomes that enhance security posture.
- Focus on advisory, planning, and enablement activities, ensuring our customers’ security programs are aligned with both best practices and Brennan’s managed service capabilities.
- Consultative role that leverages strong communication, analytical thinking, and technical literacy across cybersecurity platforms to drive clarity, trust, and value for our customers.
Role Responsibilities:
Client Advisory and Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary security liaison between clients and Brennan’s internal Security Operations and Engineering teams.
- Conduct stakeholder workshops, maturity assessments, and roadmap sessions to understand business objectives and security priorities.
- Translate complex technical issues into clear business insights and actionable recommendations.
- Communicate incident summaries, project outcomes, and security strategies to technical and executive stakeholders.
- Support customer awareness of evolving threats, risks, and mitigation strategies relevant to their environment.
Security Operations Consultancy
- Advise on operational best practices across Endpoint, Email, Identity, and SIEM/SOAR services, aligning with frameworks such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001, and the Essential 8.
- Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure effective implementation of customer requirements and continuous improvement of controls.
- Develop and present uplift plans, service improvement recommendations, and security health reports.
- Support incident response coordination, ensuring timely communication, stakeholder alignment, and appropriate escalation.
- Contribute to the evolution of Brennan’s service offerings through feedback, insights, and customer advocacy.
Governance, Process, and Continuous Improvement
- Document security recommendations, risk registers, and operational playbooks for customers.
- Identify process improvements that enhance detection, response, and reporting capabilities.
- Maintain awareness of emerging threats, technologies, and compliance obligations affecting managed environments.
- Participate in post-incident reviews and security posture workshops to identify lessons learned and areas for uplift.
Key Competencies and Qualifications Required:
- 5+ years' proven client facing experience in Security Operations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills — able to build trust and credibility with both technical and business audiences.
- Strong understanding of core SecOps technologies (EDR/XDR, Email Security, IAM, SIEM/SOAR) and how they integrate in managed environments.
- Analytical and consultative approach to problem-solving, with the ability to connect operational data to business context.
- Clear and structured written communication for reporting, recommendations, and presentations.
- Ability to balance multiple client engagements while maintaining consistency and quality in delivery.
- Experience in incident response, vulnerability management, or cyber maturity uplift programs will be highly valued.
- Hands-on understanding of technologies such as:
- Endpoint Security: SentinelOne, CrowdStrike, Defender for Endpoint, Trend Vision One, or Sophos.
- Email Security: Mimecast, Proofpoint, or Microsoft Exchange Online Protection.
- Identity & Access Management: Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access, MFA, Privileged Access.
- SIEM/SOAR: Microsoft Sentinel, Securonix, or equivalent.
